Placing the chord with the help of a tensioner.
Using a string tensioner is a simple and safe method of putting a string on a bow. The turnbuckle consists of a long cable with special brackets that attach to the arms of the bow.
Hold the bow in your left hand with the back of your hand facing upward, while letting the string hang downward. Put the handles on the arms of the bow. Stand on the middle part of the tensioner cable with your left foot (the cable should be under the middle part of your foot). Pull the bow up enough to make the line taut. Check that the line lays on the front of the bow at the bends, and not next to them. Now pull the bow with your left hand, while using your right hand to direct the string to the notches of the upper arm.
